Welcome to Emmanuel Lutheran Church! Emmanuel has been serving Norwood and the surrounding towns for more than 100 years. We are a vibrant congregation that provides many opportunities to encourage and support one another through worship, learning, service, witness, and fellowship.
The Mission of Emmanuel Lutheran Church:
Here we proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ; witness to the Gospel and invite all people to salvation and wholeness in Christ
Worship is the center of our life together in Christ Jesus. We are here to learn about the Lord Jesus, to deepen our relationships with God and with one another, and to explore how to live our lives more faithfully in the world. During worship we provide comfortable seat cushions and hearing devices for those who need them, and families with young children can take advantage of bags of soft toys or a quiet space downstairs.
Emmanuel is part of the 4.2 million-member Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and is in partnership with the 10,000 congregations, 26 colleges and universities, 10 seminaries, and 240 missionaries that are part of the ELCA. Our name “Emmanuel” comes from the Bible name given to Jesus that means “God with us.” We know that to be true for us and we live out our lives in ministry because of that fact.
We extend a warm invitation to you to attend regularly, ask questions, take advantage of our educational programs, join us for refreshment and fellowship, and share in the activities and events of this community of faith. Our building is handicap accessible. Details of our life together are found in the weekly announcement page in our worship bulletin and in our newsletter, The Envoy.
As you get to know us, we hope you will choose Emmanuel as your church home!
